Technical Expert and Project Manager – EuropeLocation: France - Lyon or Poland - WarsawDepartment: Technical and Project Team, EuropeReports to: Europe CTOCompany: Sunmi Technology EuropeRole OverviewAs a Technical Expert and Project Manager at Sunmi Technology Europe, you will play a key role in driving Sunmi’s products and solutions success across the European market. You will act as the technical bridge between customers, Sales teams, and Sunmi’s R&D centers, ensuring projects are delivered successfully from pre-sales to integration and post-deployment support.This role requires a hands-on technical background, strong project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across cultures and disciplines. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic international technology environment and enjoys combining technical depth with strategic coordination.Key Responsibilities / Missions:Technical Expertise & Product LeadershipServe as Sunmi’s technical expert and referent for Payment & POS products and solutions (Key Injection, MDM, TMS, etc.) across Europe.Provide technical guidance and architectural recommendations for platform and product improvements.Participate in testing, validation, and pre-release evaluation of new products, features, & enhancements.Customer Assistance & Project ManagementCollaborate with Sales and R&D teams during pre-sales, solution design, and project delivery.Analyze customer requirements and help build tailored technical proposals and solutions.Guide and assist customers in implementing and configuring POS and payment solutions, ensuring smooth integration with their systems.Monitor project execution, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, and quality.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align regional requirements with global product roadmaps.Documentation & Knowledge SharingCreate and maintain technical documentation, training materials and troubleshooting guides.Contribute to the internal knowledge base with FAQs, best practices, and recurring issue analyses.Deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and product demonstrations.Communication & ReportingMaintain professional communication to ensure customer satisfaction and project transparency.Report project progress, risks, and escalations using Sunmi’s internal tools (Jira, Confluence).Act as a technical liaison between customers, Sales, and Engineering teams.Qualifications:Education & BackgroundBachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electronics.At least 5 years in technical leadership, project management, or solution engineering roles within Payment, Security, Retail, or Banking.Strong experience in software development, ideally 7+ years with Android, Java, Kotlin, and cloud-based applications.Technical ExpertiseSolid knowledge of payment technologies and standards: EMV, PCI PTS, P2PE, and related certifications.Familiarity with cryptography and security protocols, including encryption, and digital signatures.Understanding of network protocols, hardware integration, and embedded device communication.Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and agile collaboration environments.Exposure to pre-sales technical support and customer-facing solution delivery.Soft Skills & MindsetHighly organized with strong planning, prioritization, and risk management skills.Comfortable working with remote and multicultural teams, coordinating across time zones.Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage with sales, marketing, engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders.Open-minded, proactive, autonomous, and capable of transversal management across regions and functions.Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking with structured, analytical approach.Languages & MobilityEnglish – fluent; French or Polish – preferred; Chinese – a plus.Willingness to travel occasionally across Europe for customer visits or project follow-ups.
