Sector Technical Expert (Electricity Systems) – EthiopiaLocation: Addis Ababa, EthiopiaDuration: 4–5 months (over a 6-month period)This role is open to Ethiopian nationals onlyWe are recruiting a Sector Technical Expert to support technical, operational, and capacity building components associated with strengthening the Petroleum and Energy Authority (PEA).Key Responsibilities:Assess institutional and technical capacity gaps in electricity sector regulation and oversight.Develop a capacity building roadmap and action plan for PEA.Provide expert insight on electricity system operations (generation, transmission, distribution, and grid interconnection).Support development of strategies that enable PEA to implement its regulatory mandates effectively.Required Qualifications:Degree (BSc or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field.Minimum 12 years professional experience, including:At least 7 years in the electricity sector (generation, transmission, distribution planning/operations, grid interconnection, or technical regulation).Participation in at least two similar consultancy or technical advisory projects.Strong knowledge of electricity infrastructure and grid operations.Fluent English (written and spoken).
