As our Technical Manager - Asset Delivery, you’ll take charge of the technical delivery of our renewable generation and battery storage projects, ensuring they’re designed, built, and commissioned to world-class standards.In this key leadership role, you’ll bring together people, process, and performance to drive technical excellence from concept to completion. You’ll oversee engineering design, manage quality assurance, and ensure our projects meet the highest safety and performance standards. From providing early technical direction and feasibility input to governing design and commissioning processes, you’ll be the technical authority ensuring every project is built for long-term success.Working closely with our Generation Development and Asset Delivery teams, you’ll play a central role in transforming bold renewable ideas into operational assets. Reporting to our Head of Asset Delivery, you’ll guide project engineers, partner with consultants and contractors, and help build a strong internal capability that will shape the next phase of New Zealand’s energy future.Please note this is a permanent fulltime role that can be based either at our Hamilton or Auckland office. What You’ll BringYou’re a trusted technical leader who thrives on turning complex challenges into well-executed projects. You understand every stage of the project lifecycle from early concept and design to construction and commissioning, driving delivery through strategic insight and technical excellence. You take pride in developing people, refining processes, and ensuring every asset adds lasting value to the business.A tertiary qualification in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience Proven success in leading technical workstreams and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across complex major projects Strong understanding of power generation technology, BESS, renewables, and New Zealand’s electricity market Experience managing contractors, consultants, and complex project interfaces Familiarity with Transpower’s grid connection and commissioning requirements Ability to influence, mentor, and embed best-practice within a high-performing team.
