We are now looking for a Technical Manager (Equipment & Operational Support) to join our team.Position OverviewThe Technical Manager is responsible for the management, maintenance, and operational readiness of Blue Offshore’s offshore equipment pool. You ensure that all technical assets — from cable handling systems to support tools — are in optimal condition, mobilised on time, and safely operated during offshore projects. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong organisational and leadership skills and acts as a key link between equipment base and projects. You will spend most of your time at our yard and warehouse in Rotterdam (RHB Waalhaven), where the equipment is stored, maintained and prepared for mobilisations. Regular presence at our head office in The Hague is also required for coordination meetings, and project preparations with project teams.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment ManagementManage and organise the complete equipment pool, including preventive and corrective maintenance and project specific modifications.Ensure all equipment is operational and contributes to optimal project performance.Supervise inspections, repairs, and upgrades of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.Maintain up-to-date maintenance plans, spare part databases, and equipment records.Keep all equipment information up to date in Timly (asset management system) and ensure proper coordination of tool issuance and return.Ensure that every item, including tools, PPE and consumables, is properly registered, traceable, and returned after use. Implement clear procedures for issuing, tracking and replacing PPE to maintain accountability and prevent unnecessary loss or waste.Coordinate together with project teams mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment, including packing, transport, and documentation.Liaise with subcontractors for third-party maintenance and certification.Operational SupportProvide on-site technical expertise during equipment mobilisation, commissioning, and demobilisation.Act as focal point for technical troubleshooting during offshore operations.Support Project Managers with technical planning, documentation, and performance monitoring.Contribute to operational safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.Coordinate with offshore crews, logistics, and supply chain partners.Promote HSE awareness and behaviour-based safety leadership.Research & Development and Continuous ImprovementParticipate in the development and improvement of Blue Offshore’s equipment.Recommend and implement technical innovations to increase reliability and reduce downtime.Contribute to the company’s R&D programme for new technologies and equipment design.Competence ProfileEducationBachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or marine engineering (MTS/HTS level or equivalent).Offshore medical and survival training (BOSIET / NOGEPA / STCW) preferred.HSE leadership or safety training is an advantage.
