Technical Project Manager - NPI & Automation

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Project Manager to lead end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) programs — from prototype to stable mass production — across both automated manufacturing equipment and non-automated product industrialization. You will orchestrate specifications, schedules, suppliers, and on-site execution (FAT/SAT, pilot builds, commissioning, and production ramp-up) while working closely with global customers and cross-regional engineering teams in Singapore, Malaysia, China, and India.What you will doLead global NPI and automation projects from concept through delivery, covering machine build, pilot builds, and production qualification.Drive requirements capture and design reviews to ensure product and process readiness.Coordinate DFM/DFT activities with design and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production.Manage integrated project plans, RAID logs, and stakeholder communication with focus on quality, cost, and delivery.Partner with supply chain and purchasing teams to secure critical components, tooling, and automation assets across APAC.Oversee FAT/SAT protocols, pilot-line validation, and site commissioning; coordinate customer buy-offs and operator training.Ensure robust documentation (URS/SRS, drawings, version control, ECR/ECO, control plans) and seamless handover to operations.What you will bringBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.Minimum 5 years’ experience leading NPI or automation projects in manufacturing environments (medical devices, electronics, or industrial systems preferred).Proven track record managing DFM/DFT, tooling, pilot builds, and production ramp-up with suppliers in Asia.Strong project management capabilities (Agile, Waterfall) and proficiency in MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet.Hands-on understanding of automation and control systems (PLCs, vision, motion), as well as manual and semi-automated assembly lines.Excellent English communication with global customers and cross-functional teams; Mandarin/Chinese is a strong advantage.Willingness to travel frequently between Singapore, Johor Bahru, China, and India during key project phasesNice to have PMP (or equivalent) certification; Six Sigma, 8D, or FTA familiarity.Experience with FAT/SAT, line validation, and volume ramp-up in high-mix or regulated industries.Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 13849, IEC 62061, CE/UL compliance, or EHS best practices.Vendor development and cost/BOM management experience across APAC.Why joining usImmediate impact: Lead end-to-end NPI projects for global customers from day one.International exposure: Collaborate with teams across Singapore, Malaysia, China, and India.Diverse portfolio: Manage projects spanning automation systems and complex product industrialization.Career growth: Clear path to senior project or program management in a growing global organization.Dynamic culture: We value speed, ownership, and transparency—your ideas will be heard.BenefitsCompetitive salary and annual performance bonus.Travel allowances and full expense coverage for international assignments.Paid annual leave and public holidays.Ample growth and career development opportunities.Regional and international travel exposure.
