Job Title: Technical Sales Head – Reinforcement & SteelLocation: Lagos, NigeriaReports To: FoundersAbout the RoleWe are hiring a Technical Sales Head – Reinforcement & Steel, a technically sound and commercially driven professional who understands steel grades, fabrication standards, and supply chain dynamics.The role involves advising clients on structural steel and rebar applications, ensuring quality and compliance, while also driving material sales and client relationships.Key Responsibilities1. Technical & Product AdvisoryProvide technical advice on steel specifications, rebar grades, and fabrication standards.Help clients choose materials best suited to project loads, budgets, and timelines.Conduct client trainings or demos on product performance and usage standards.Stay current on material codes, market innovations, and quality benchmarks.2. Business Development & SalesIdentify and engage contractors, fabricators, and developers as clients.Build a strong sales pipeline and close deals within the reinforcement and steel category.Prepare quotations and ensure client satisfaction through post-sales support.Achieve or exceed category revenue and profit targets.3. Supplier & Partner CoordinationEstablish strong partnerships with mills, distributors, and stockists.Negotiate competitive prices and delivery schedules.Monitor supplier performance and quality certifications.4. Market & StrategyTrack steel market prices, demand patterns, and emerging technologies.Recommend product diversification and sourcing improvements.Contribute insights to overall category strategy and revenue planning.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Metallurgical Engineering.5–10 years’ experience in steel production, rebar sales, or construction material supply.Strong understanding of reinforcement detailing and fabrication standards.Proven experience in technical sales or business development.Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Revenue growth within reinforcement and steel category.Client engagement and deal conversion rate.Supplier efficiency and cost optimization.Technical advisory impact on client decisions
