If you're driven by purpose, committed to excellence, and ready to help shape the future of responsible business, we'd love to hear from you.The Technical Specialist II, B Lab LATAM is responsible for conducting third-party certification audits for organizations seeking to become Certified B Corporations in the LATAM region. This position involves evaluating sustainability practices, social and environmental performance, and governance systems against B Lab Standards. All auditing roles are expected to uphold impartiality, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement, and play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, consistency, and credibility of the certification process.Relevant Standards/SchemesB LabEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAuditingConduct third-party audits ensuring compliance with ISO 19011:2018 auditing principles to assess compliance with B Lab StandardsConduct interviews and perform site inspections when necessaryReview organizational documentation, processes, and practicesComplete audits by adhering to the agreed timeline, reporting deliverables, and professional requirementsProvide clear, actionable recommendations and issue audit reportsLead the documentation, communication, and closure of audit findingsIdentify non-conformities and areas for improvementParticipate in audit planning, execution, and follow-up activitiesParticipate in calibration, witness audits, and ongoing trainingCollaborate with technical experts when additional domain knowledge is requiredMaintain impartiality and confidentiality throughout the audit lifecycleClient ManagementDirect the audit process with clientsEnsure the clients provide data and information necessary for auditCommunicate in a timely and professional manner with internal staff and external clientsEnsure high level of customer service and client satisfactionQuality and Program DevelopmentDeliver verification services in accordance with SCS Corporate and Program Quality requirements, in addition to participation in periodic internal and external accreditation auditsManage the SCS quality management system through maintenance of competency records including training log, completed calibration activities, and up to date knowledge of SCS program and external scheme requirementsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant discipline (e.g., sustainability, environmental science, social sciences) or3+ years of professional experience in sustainability, social, or related fields andExperience conducting audits of sustainability and/or management system standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 1400, ISO 45001, or RSPOSuccessful completion and exam pass of mandatory B Lab training coursesTraining or experience in ISO 14001:2015 or similar, environmental/human rights/labor laws, or GHG accounting standardsExcellent technical writing, observation, and data management skillsStrong communication abilities with demonstrated abilities in critical analysis and objective evaluationExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesHigh ethical standards and professional integrityInitiative and ability to work independently; responsive and adaptive to diverse team environmentFluent in English and Spanish with professional experience in verbal and written communicationProficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; advanced level in ExcelPreferred QualificationsExperience with B Corp certification audits (V1.6)Lead Auditor training course based on ISO 19011:2018Industry-specific experience in sustainability, ESG, or environmental/social managementKnowledge of impact materiality assessments and ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., CSRD)Multi-language proficiency (e.g., Portuguese, Italian, French, or German)The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
