In this critical role, you will lead our product engineering department, driving innovation and excellence in product development.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesOversee the product engineering lifecycle and develop strategies to enhance quality, efficiency, and market competitivenessLead and mentor engineering teams while collaborating with cross-functional departments to align product development with business objectivesAnalyze market trends, customer feedback, and ensure compliance with industry standards and quality control measuresManage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectivelyImplement process improvements and best practices in product engineeringProvide comprehensive technical briefings and project updates to senior management and stakeholdersQualificationsREQUIRED:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field8+ years of experience in product engineering, with 3-5 years in a managerial rolePreferredProven track record of successful product development and launchesStrong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in product engineeringExcellent project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneouslyDemonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management and mentoringStrategic thinking and analytical skills to drive product innovation and problem-solvingProficiency in relevant engineering software and toolsStrong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teamsSkillsIn-depth understanding of the product development lifecycle and industry best practicesFamiliarity with industry standards, regulations, and quality control processesKnowledge of market trends and ability to translate customer needs into product featuresProfessional engineering certification (e.g., PE) is a plusAdditional InformationWestern Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
