Job Description

Job DescriptionRole PurposeThe Head of Corporate Security is responsible for leading the development, implementation and maintenance of the Company’s Corporate Security strategy policies and procedures. This role will secure the interests of Telecel Ghana and protect its staff, customers, assets, information, reputation and value through appropriate security risk management to ensure the continuity of business operations and maintain a safe and secure environment. Key Accountabilities And Decision OwnershipMaintain a robust, cost effective and efficient level of network and services fraud mitigation, including the detection, reduction and investigation of subscription fraud which impacts the business.

Manage and coordinate all aspects of physical and personnel security for Telecel Ghana, including access control, CCTV and swipe card operations, personnel security, travel security and critical site protection. Also responsible for the management and performance of the manned security guards covering several owned and collocated sites across the countryEvaluate and complete investigations into all reported allegations of fraud & crime affecting the business and liaise accordingly with security agencies to ensure all necessary and lawful requirements are met. Provide timely and relevant recommendations to the business regarding any issues identified including disciplinary / criminal action.

Focus on recovering losses and KPI management. Plan and complete reviews of business operations and activities which present a risk of potential fraud & crime activities and provide recommendations to mitigate these risks to the businessRoll out an effective and valued level of Fraud & Security Awareness to the entire business which translates into a positive cultural change and mind set and communicates the requirements and activities necessary to ensure that there is strong protection of the businesses staff, assets, revenues and reputation.

Manage the creation and maintenance of all security policies and engage effectively with Technology Security to ensure that adequate adherence is maintained. Engage closely with Technology Security on information and network security related issues to ensure aligned support to mitigate. Manage the end-to-end risk of copper/fibre cable theft from reactive investigations and law enforcement engagement through to strategic prevention planning. Work with external stakeholders such as civil works companies and government agencies to prevent accidental network damage due to such activities as roadwork and building construction.

Provide a robust, accurate and legally compliant disclosure service to Ghanaian authorities in accordance with all required legislative requirementsEnsure that Corporate Security is effectively aligned to other risk teams within the business unit (AC&B, BCCM, H&S, ERM and Compliance) to achieve a seamless, end to end, level of coordination both strategically and operationally. Coordinate strategic planning within Corporate Security which aligns with business performance objectives and planning. The ability to think outside the box in a complex environment. Review all new products & services and evaluate for potential impacts including fraud, loss of revenues, reputational concerns etc.

Ensure adequate and relevant cascade of Corporate Security Information within the business and ensure it is used to support the business to achieve its strategic goals and objectivesCore Competencies, Knowledge, And ExperienceA Degree in Security Management, Law enforcement or any related field.

10+ experience in corporate security, law enforcement, fraud / risk management areas with strong understanding of legislative and governance requirements Proven people manager with broad experience in criminal investigations, telecommunications and mobile financial services fraud investigations, risk management and physical security Strong decision-making skills and the ability to provide clear direction and support to team members
