Job Description
My client based in Dublin are currently looking for experienced Telecommunications Project Manager to oversee the full lifecycle delivery of customer networking and security solutions.The TPM will manage all technical aspects of projects, from initial planning, pricing, and equipment procurement to installation, integration, risk management, change control, and customer acceptance.The role involves close collaboration with Network and Security Architects and Engineers, engagement with third-party vendors, and liaison with customer teams. The TPM will serve as the primary point of contact for project delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to specification.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain project plans in consultation with internal teams, customer stakeholders, and technical architects.Conduct risk assessments covering cost, resources, scope, integration, and schedule to mitigate potential issues.Negotiate with vendors, management, and customers to secure resources, equipment, and scheduling required for successful project delivery.Lead, motivate, and coordinate project teams, including third-party vendors and customer personnel, to meet milestones.Serve as the primary interface with customers, addressing project-related queries and managing issue resolution.Organize and lead project meetings, status updates, and stakeholder reporting.Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with baseline plans, budgets, and timelines.Participate in early deployment and integration activities as needed.Identify potential new business opportunities arising during project execution.Essential Skills & ExperienceMinimum 8 years’ experience as a Project Manager in telecommunications or IT.Proven ability to manage complex customer environments with competing priorities and tight deadlines.Solid understanding of IP infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and networking protocols (IP, 4G, 5G).Hands-on experience with early deployment and integration of network solutions.Advanced Visio skills for creating and reviewing low-level technical designs.Exposure to data centre operations, including power installations, cabling standards, and hardware racking.Familiarity with enterprise and carrier-grade hardware (servers, routers, firewalls, load balancers) from vendors like Cisco, HP, IBM, Checkpoint, F5.Experience managing Tier 1 mobile network service providers and third-party vendors.Awareness of industry trends and customer requirements in telecoms and networkingStrong technical knowledge of network security and integration.Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel) and MS Project.Experience engaging with customers and driving project phases to completion, including supporting engineers as required.Flexible to work at multiple customer sites in Dublin and travel at short notice.Full, clean driver’s license.Exceptional organisational and project management skillsQualificationsBachelor’s or Engineering degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
