Job Description

We are looking for an EO Data Scientist to play a crucial role in contributing to EO-related projects with technical and operational constraints, in close collaboration with stakeholders from various sectors, who will work for Earthlab Luxembourg (https: //www. earthlab. lu/). The candidate will also play a key role in the development of Max-ICS, by designing and implementing generic AI models, reusable data processing pipelines, and proposing new analytical features to support advanced geospatial intelligence. Earthlab is an innovative company specializing in earth observation and artificial intelligence.

Earthlab proprietary Max-ICS allows for seamless data processing and continuous AI model training. What Is Expected From YouAnalyzing and processing multi-source EO data (e. g. , satellite imagery, LiDAR, drone datasets) to extract insights. Developing and validating machine learning models for classification, detection, segmentation, or prediction using EO data. Designing and implementing scalable and reproductible EO data processing pipelines (from ingestion to inference). Collaborating with engineers to optimize EO data storage and retrieval and ensure AI models reproducibility and traceability.

Engaging with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver actionable and datadriven productsProducing technical reports, models, documentation, or contributing to scientific publications. Staying up to date with the latest research and technologies in EO, remote sensing, and AI. Communicating effectively with colleagues across different teams. Providing training and support to colleagues or partners on the use of earth observation data and analytical tools. What You OfferMaster's degree or PhD in Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. 3+ years of experience applying AI/ML to EO or geospatial data. Experience with image processing techniques and libraries (e.

g. , OpenCV, scikit-image) for feature extraction, enhancement, and computer vision tasks. Experience with time series analysis and spatio-temporal modeling is a strong asset. Solid understanding of remote sensing principles and data formats (Sentinel, Landsat, SAR, etc. ). Strong proficiency in ML, Deep learning and Python libraries (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, geopadas). Hands-on experience with MLOPS tools and workflows (e. g. , MLflow, DVC, model versioning) is highly desirable. Familiarity with cloud-based or distributed computing environments (S3, Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab CI/CD) is an asset. Fluent in English, and French is an asset.
