The ideal candidate will have expertise in Kodály pedagogy and a strong background in teaching general music at the K-12 level. Responsibilities include supervising K-12 student teachers. The position requires a combination of academic qualifications, practical teaching experience, and a commitment to excellence in music education. Utilize a variety of instructional methods, such as demonstrations, discussions, and appropriate online tools or platforms, to support effective learning and teaching practices in higher education.Part-time faculty members shall maintain a prorated number of office hours each week, at a minimum of twenty-five (25) minutes for each workload hour taught, at such days, times and locations as will accommodate the needs of the students.This position requires in-person instruction on Millersville University’s campus. It offers programs in the Bachelor of Science in Music Education, the Bachelor of Arts in Music, the Bachelor of Science in Music Industry with concentrations in Production, Management, and Live audio, the minor in Music, and courses in general education. In addition, it offers large and small ensemble experiences for music majors and general students and Millersville University is accredited by NASM. The music education program complies with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).Required QualificationsMaster’s degree in Music Education or equivalent.
