Position Overview Specialisation in Media & Film Studies: Media and Film Knowledge: In-depth understanding of media theory, film history, and contemporary practices to deliver an innovative curriculum. Curriculum Development: Ability to design, implement, and refine a dynamic media curriculum that challenges and engages students.

Facilitate the IB Diploma Film course, promoting independent and creative filmmaking while ensuring technical proficiency. Foster an environment that encourages student creativity, critical thinking, and project-based learning. Cultivate a passion for media and film among students, encouraging them to explore and express their ideas creatively. Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices. Specialisation Art/Visual Art: Demonstrated skill and knowledge in at least two areas of art-making (e. g. , drawing, printmaking, photography, digital art). Strong background in traditional techniques (e. g. , oil painting, stenciling, mixed media) and proficiency in digital software (e. g.

, Adobe Creative Suite). Ability to integrate digital software with traditional art techniques to create a comprehensive and evolving art curriculum. Sequence and guide students through the exploration of art techniques and the development of their ideas across all year levels. Actively demonstrate techniques and facilitate art-making processes, ensuring clarity and maintaining student engagement. Continuously adapt teaching methods and units to reflect the changing landscape of visual arts, ensuring relevance and creativity in the curriculum.

General RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a PostgraduateCertificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE) An understanding of the MYP and the key underpinnings of the curriculum frameworks is advantageousNewly qualified teachers or teaching experience within a recognised educational instituteClick here to see the standard competencies and capabilities required to be a secondary school teacher at an ESF schoolIMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not qualify for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which is a crucial requirement for teaching at an ESF school.
