Test Automation Consultant

Role: Test Automation Engineer Location: Warsaw, Poland (Hybrid: 2–3 days onsite) Type: Contract (6 Months, B2B or Subcontract)My client, a global digital payments provider, is seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer to support a high-availability platform within the card payments domain. This role is part of a collaborative engineering team focused on delivering robust, scalable, and reusable test automation solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement automated test cases; perform manual testing when neededBuild and maintain test automation frameworks to support scalable and reusable test executionVerify and evaluate test results, identifying and reporting defects clearly and efficientlyCollaborate closely with developers and QA team members; contribute to Agile ceremonies (standups, planning, retrospectives)Advise on best testing practices, improving test coverage and automation strategyApply basic knowledge of card payments, including issuing and acquiring authorization flows, to relevant testing scenariosRequired SkillsStrong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and critical thinking beyond specificationsProficiency in Java or Groovy (or similar), with the ability to write clean, scalable, and reusable test automation codeExperience with automated test execution, bug analysis, and reportingEnd-to-end testing experience in RESTful architectures and microservicesFamiliarity with tools and frameworks such as Cucumber, Spock, Git/Bitbucket, and MavenFluent English communication and collaboration skillsFamiliarity with Jira and ConfluenceNice to HaveExperience with Kafka, OpenShift, or NexusExposure to MongoDB and Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelinesBackground in card payments or financial servicesReady to contribute to a high-impact payments platform with a global footprint?
