About the role: We are looking for an outstanding and highly motivated individual to lead and grow the Carbon Trust’s business, team and impact in Asia. As Head of Asia you will have the opportunity to lead the development of work across Asia, with a particular focus on Southeast Asia, and ensuring its effective delivery through leadership of our regional office of circa 15 people in Singapore, working in collaboration with our Global Practice Areas and partners and overtime, substantially growing our team in Asia.

This role would suit an experienced sustainability leader with a track record in consulting and deep knowledge of accelerating the move to a decarbonised future. A strong understanding of the market context in Southeast Asia is also important. Key responsibilities: Business development:

Drive the Carbon Trust’s growth across Asia by developing strategic partnerships, key accounts, and representing the organisation through new business development, stakeholder engagement, and thought leadership. Delivery: Lead and oversee the successful delivery of the Carbon Trust Asia’s high-impact low-carbon programmes and advisory projects (business and government)ensuring high-quality outputs, effective project budget management, timely execution, and strong collaboration with global teams and partnersStrategy, team management and operations:

Shape and lead the Carbon Trust’s strategy and operations in Asia, with full responsibility for the Singapore office, including team leadership, recruitment, compliance, financial oversight, and strategic reportingKnowledge management and learning: Track and analyse low-carbon policy, technologies, and market trends across Asia to inform strategic opportunities, while ensuring effective knowledge management and alignment with global initiativesKey skills & attributes:

Proven team and business leadership skillsExcellent business development skills, with the ability to engage with clients and senior stakeholders, and craft business propositionsCollaborative approach, a team player, who is responsive, reliable and consistently meets deadlinesExceptional communication skills (written and oral), with the ability to lead workshop sessions, present to audiences and write high quality reports and proposalsExcellent interpersonal skills with ability to build client and partner relationships and influence stakeholdersExcellent strategic problem-solving skills and solution developmentComfortable with financial analysisAn entrepreneurial approach and growth mentalityQualifications and experience:

Demonstrated leadership on strategic business development, including a strong track record of developing successful proposals ideally within a management consultancyStrong relevant networks in government, business, finance and philanthropy across Asia, with a focus on Southeast AsiaExperience of team leadership, line management and development coachingExperience of effective business leadership and financial managementExperience of communicating effectively in writing and speech at Director level for senior government and business audiencesExperience of running projects, delivering high quality outputs and managing budgets effectivelyExperience in contract negotiation and managementMasters’ level degree educated (or equivalent)Fluency in English is essential, and knowledge of other Asian languages is desirable but not essentialSalary & Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary and a performance-based bonus. Our hours are 37. 5 per week with 17 days paid annual leave rising to 18 after 1 full years’ service plus public holidays and a generous pension scheme. At the Carbon Trust we offer flexibility around working between the office and home, our employees can work from home up to 3 days per week.

We would expect our Head of Asia to lead by example and to be present more frequently in the office to lead the team and they will be happy to overlap some of their working hours with UK working hours to leverage expertise into the region.
