Job Description

The Deputy Director - Warehouse & Distribution will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational excellence across all aspects of warehousing, distribution center (DC) operations, and inbound/outbound logistics. This role focuses on optimizing automated systems, ensuring compliance (especially for the dairy/FMCG sector), driving process innovation (Lean/Six Sigma), and supporting the company's growth into Southeast Asian markets by maintaining cost-effective and high-service-level supply chain integrity.Key Responsibilities 1. Operations Management & OptimizationOversee and lead the end-to-end operation of all warehouses and distribution centers, including receiving, storage (ambient, chilled, frozen as applicable to dairy products), picking, shipping, and workforce management.Manage, optimize, and leverage advanced automation systems, including Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Mini-Load systems, Pick-to-Light, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and integration with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and robotics.Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), and Six Sigma to enhance process efficiency, throughput, and operational safety.2. Inventory, Cost Control & PlanningEnsure highly accurate inventory records across all storage locations, utilizing tools such as Cycle Counting and ABC Analysis for effective management of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG)/dairy stock.Develop, manage, and monitor the departmental budget, cost forecasts, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) requests, ensuring strict cost control and resource allocation effectiveness.Plan and execute major supply chain projects, such as warehouse relocations, expansion, or the commissioning of new automated facilities, ensuring zero disruption to existing operational continuity.3. Logistics & Distribution ExcellenceManage the overall Inbound & Outbound transport management, ensuring goods are delivered On Time In Full (OTIF) domestically and to regional export hubs (Southeast Asia) in the most effective and efficient manner.Ensure strict compliance with all local and international transportation laws, food safety regulations, and trade compliance for all logistics activities.Collaborate closely with Supply Chain Management, Sales, and Production to harmonize resource needs, balance service levels, manage contractual requirements, and optimize overall supply chain flow.4. Quality, Safety & ComplianceEstablish, monitor, and enforce world-class standards for safety (OHS), security, and hygiene/food safety within all warehousing facilities, crucial for the dairy and food business.Identify and mitigate operational bottlenecks, service risks, and security vulnerabilities, recommending and implementing solutions to optimize flow and minimize stock loss/damage.5. Leadership, Performance & ReportingLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing warehouse and logistics team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and adherence to high standards.Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), performance metrics, and generate comprehensive reports for executive management, focusing on cost efficiency, service level adherence, and inventory accuracy.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related fields.Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Transportation management, with at least 5 years at a senior management level overseeing large-scale operations and complex automation systems.Industry Background: Proven experience in managing high-volume warehousing, transportation, and distribution within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), Food Business (Dairy/Beverage preferred), or high-tech manufacturing industries.Strong experience with ASRS, WMS, ERP, Integration, Robotics , Lean /Six Sigma and process improvement skills Financial Acumen: Analytical mindset with solid skills in financial planning, budgeting, cost analysis, and capital expenditure management.Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership ability in managing large teams, coupled with excellent planning, professional presentation, and communication skills (in English and local language).Work Ethic: Ability to work independently, manage stress under high-pressure environments, and willingness to work a demanding schedule (e.g., 6 days per week) to ensure operational success.
