OverviewResponsibilities include:
Direct the underwriting strategy, process, planning, reporting, forecasting, business development and innovation for the Financial Lines insurance book of businessUnderwrite, price, and negotiate risks in a manner that is consistent with the groups risk appetite to ensure profitability, retention, and written premium goals are achievedProvide a professional layer of leadership, mentorship, and management to the underwriting team, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting continued growth, training and development of junior underwriting and administrative staffNegotiate, prepare, and draft policy and endorsement wordingCreate and develop relationships with brokers and policyholders to establish new distribution relationships and sales channelsAttend and occasionally present at industry conferences, as needed and as the opportunity presents itself
