Job Title: Employee Relations AdvisorLocation: UK / RemoteSalary: Circa £38kContract: Full-Time, PermanentReports To: Head of HR - Operations & ComplianceDirect/Indirect Reports: NoneKey Internal contacts/relationships: HR and People Services Team, IHRMs, Safeguarding Team, Programme Managers, Regional Directors, All People ManagersKey External contacts/relationships: External Auditors, Employment Law AdvisorsJob Purpose: The Employee Relations (ER) Advisor plays a key role in building positive relationships and ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies. Our primary duty is to serve people affected by conflict, clearing landmines and the explosive remnants of war that threaten lives and livelihoods long after fighting has finished. We make land safe where war has ended, while also assisting those affected by active conflict and endemic violence. HALO addresses human suffering caused by armed violence in some of the world's most fragile places, securing weapons and ammunition and working with both state and community actors to reduce the prevalence of armed violence. About the Role:

The ER Advisor will provide guidance and support to managers and employees on all aspects of employee relations. They handle a variety of issues particularly relating to disciplinary and grievance matters and policy interpretation, often acting as a point of contact for both managers and employees. The ER Advisor will also advise on other ER matters, such as absence management cases and performance concerns where required. Responsibilities:

Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on a range of ER mattersEnsure compliance at all times with employment legislation, company policy / process and ACAS Code of PracticeManage a number of formal ER cases, including grievance and disciplinary investigations and hearingsSupport formal and informal conflict managementProvide training, coaching and support to managers on relevant ER policy and processesMaintain the case tracker to ensure all cases are being managed in a timely mannerCollate data and report on relevant KPI'sAnalyse the data to identify trends and recommend improvementsSupporting with administering case documentation where necessary, including drafting letters and investigation reports.

Maintaining case files in line with confidentiality and GDPR requirementsSupporting the implementation and continuous improvement of current policies, processes and template documentationGeneral: Uphold HALO's core values and standards, promoting its ethos and mission statementEnsure familiarity with and adherence to all HALO policies and procedures, especially the code of conduct and safeguardingEssential Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an Employee Relations role, with strong expertise in employee relations, including advising on complex casesCIPD qualification or equivalent experienceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsProblem solving and conflict resolution skillsDesirable:
