Job DescriptionThe hospital porters performs variety of different tasks such as, transport / mobilizing ambulatory or non-ambulatory patients to different areas of the hospital as directed by staff, maintaining clean & sanitize departmental facility / equipment as guided by the department staff. The porters are also responsible to organize patients as per daily doctorsâ appointments at their assigned work locations, transporting blood samples, sorting patient linens, cleaning of mobile trolleys, collecting store supplies etc. Porters are to ensure that their assigned area is operating in the most productive manner possible.
Hospital porters are assigned to various departments on daily basis and rotated on quarterly from one location to others as planned by immediate HK supervisor. The hospital porters are not permitted to perform clinical or non-clinical patient procedure or to operate high tech electronic medical equipment at their assigned location on behalf of departmental staff.
