Thesis - Experimental Determination of Thermophysical Parameters of Li-ion Battery Cells

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a motivated student to conduct their Master Thesis in the area of experimental battery characterization. The thermophysical properties of Li-ion battery cells, such as thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity, are essential input parameters for accurate thermal simulations and safety assessments.The scope of the thesis includes the identification and application of suitable measurement methods (e.g., Heat Flow Meter or others) to determine these parameters under controlled conditions. In addition to baseline measurements, the work will explore how these properties vary depending on factors such as cell type, state of charge (SoC), aging condition, temperature, and external pressure.
