Tourism Fiji is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to take Fiji’s business events presence to the next level. This newly elevated role reflects both the increasing importance of the MICE sector to Fiji’s tourism strategy and the strong foundation laid by our current program. Over the past few years, Tourism Fiji has grown its MICE market presence, establishing valuable partnerships, building pipeline, and expanding international visibility. We’re now looking to build on that momentum with a senior appointment to drive Fiji’s competitiveness as a business events destination.
This role works closely with Regional Offices (North America, Australia, New Zealand and Asia), Global PR & Communications, Digital Marketing Partnerships & Aviation Industry Development Event & Activations. This role sits within the global strategy team and reports to the Executive Director of Regions. ResponsibilitiesLead the development and execution of Tourism Fiji’s MICE strategy, focusing on lead generation, conversion, and international competitiveness. Driving strategy from the top focusing on high-level oversight, cross functional alignment, and market influence. Manage strategic relationships with event organizers, incentive houses, associations, and corporate planners.
Coordinate bids and proposals for major events in partnership with Fiji’s industry, venues, and suppliers. Represent Fiji at key global trade shows and B2B events such as AIME, IMEX, and other activations. Drive content and visibility across digital platforms, including the business events website, LinkedIn and soon to be included sector-specific platforms. Design and oversee familiarization trips and training programs to increase planner confidence and destination readiness. Work with Fiji Airways and other partners to co-create compelling packages for business events.
Provide leadership within Tourism Fiji and across the industry to position Fiji as a top-tier destination for meetings and incentives. Use insights and data to track performance, identify growth opportunities, and inform tactical adjustments QualificationsA Bachelor's Degree in Tourism, Events, Marketing or Business At least 8-10 years' experience in business events, tourism trade or strategic partnerships. Deep knowledge of long-haul MICE source markets, as well as our core short-haul sources. A proven track records of developing and managing international partnerships and event bids Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
Strategic mindset with a bias for action and results. Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours when requiredThis position is based at Tourism Fiji’s Head Office in Nadi, with working hours from 8: 00 AM – 4: 30 PM (Mon–Thu) and up to 4: 00 PM on Fridays.
