About Emil Anderson MaintenanceEmil Anderson Maintenance (EAM) is the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MoTT) highway and bridge maintenance contractor for three service areas in British Columbia: Service Area 7 (Fraser Valley), Service Area 20 (Robson), and Service Area 26 (Skeena).For decades, EAM has delivered reliable road and bridge maintenance across urban and rural corridors. Our teams perform the full scope of highway maintenance activities, including vegetation control, drainage, sign and pavement repairs, concrete and wood bridge repair, gravel surface grading, anti‑icing, snow plowing, and incident and emergency response. Joining our team means working on landmark projects, learning from industry leaders, and advancing your career in a supportive, safety-focused culture.The OpportunityWe’re seeking a Trade Journeyperson Welder to join our team in Hope, B.C.As a Trade Journeyperson Welder with Emil Anderson Maintenance (EAM), you will work closely with maintenance and operations teams to perform high‑quality welding and fabrication on our heavy fleet and attachments, and to support the safe, efficient return‑to‑service of equipment to minimize downtime.Although we are a union‑affiliated organization, being an active member is not a prerequisite.Your Key ResponsibilitiesPerform Welding on fleet equipment.Inspect and maintain welding tools and equipment for safety and functionality.Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to complete repairs to minimize equipment downtime.Read and interpret related technical information.Support and mentor apprentices in learning and developing trade skills.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Any other duties as required.Your Qualifications & SkillsValid Canadian (BC) class 3 driver’s license with air endorsement as well as a clean abstract.Preferably completion of a registered apprenticeship in the respective trade, or equivalent training and work experience to the full apprenticeship term.Completion of apprenticeship and/or Red Seal certification considered an asset.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others; strong communication and teamwork skills.Demonstrated ability to assist apprentices in learning and developing skills.Physically fit; able to perform labour‑intensive tasks and lift as required.Mentally alert and safety‑conscious, with a commitment to safe work practices.What We OfferThe chance to be part of essential roadway operations that keep communities across British Columbia safe and moving, while building your career with a company that’s been trusted for over 85 years.
