Job SummaryAs a trailer technician II, you are responsible for performing intermediate maintenance, service and repair to J.B. Hunt trailers and other equipment. Under routine supervision, you must be able to troubleshoot issues and complete all fleet maintenance to ensure that our equipment meets J.B. Hunt standards at all times.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities: Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWA inspectionsTroubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelinesAssist with the onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician traineesParticipate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairsUnderstand and effectively follow all shop safety proceduresMaintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt's Technician Career Advancement (TCA) program.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age with 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalentAND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesMust be A/C certifiedMust be DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakesAble to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase programWillingness to work outdoors in the elementsAble to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if neededPreferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2+ years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalentBasic welding skills (MIG and stick )Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediumsAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work both independently and as part of a team Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectivelyAbility to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)Don’t let distance keep you from becoming a part of our team!
