YORK CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD Invites Applications For The Position OfTraining Officer Exempt Level 4 (Salary - $65,295 - $83,680 per annum)Position SummaryThe Training Officer provides comprehensive support in the areas of learning and development and recruitment. This position coordinates and delivers training initiatives that align with the Board’s legislative requirements and strategic priorities, manages the iCOD system for employee compliance, and oversees the full recruitment cycle for assigned employee groups.Responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating training sessions, maintaining compliance records, supporting onboarding, and leading recruitment activities from posting to selection to ensure the Board attracts and retains qualified employees.Major ResponsibilitiesTraining and Development Coordinate and deliver training programs and workshops to support the Board’s learning and development objectives, including mandatory training under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).Prepare and distribute training materials, schedules, and participant information.Facilitate assigned training sessions using approved lesson plans and delivery methods.Maintain accurate and up-to-date training databases, attendance logs, and compliance records.Manage the iCOD (Internet Criminal Offence Declaration) system for employees, ensuring timely completion, monitoring compliance, and following up with staff and supervisors as required.Track and monitor training completion, following up with departments as needed.Provide administrative and technical support for training initiatives, including vendor coordination and invoice tracking.Assist in reviewing and updating training content and documentation as directed by the Academic Services Specialist.Recruitment and StaffingManage end-to-end recruitment processes for assigned employee groups in accordance with Board policies, collective agreements, and employment legislation.Review and screen applications to ensure candidates meet minimum qualifications and experience requirements.Coordinate and participate as an interviewer on selection panels, assisting in the development of interview questions and evaluation tools.Conduct reference checks and coordinate other pre-employment requirements.Prepare offer letters, facilitate onboarding, and ensure completion of all necessary documentation for new hires.QualificationsEducation and Experience:College diploma in Human Resources Management, Adult Education, or a related discipline.One (1) to two (2) years of related experience in training coordination, recruitment, or HR administrative support.Experience within an educational or public sector organization is considered an asset.Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesKnowledge of adult learning principles and training delivery methods.Basic understanding of recruitment and selection processes.Working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and AODA requirements.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms), and HRIS or applicant tracking systems.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective relationships with managers, supervisors, unions, and external partners.High attention to detail, accuracy, and sound judgment.Interested applicants may apply until the close of business on November 17, 2025.We appreciate your interest in the York Catholic District School Board, however, only applicants selected to continue to the interview process will be contacted by Human Resources.Thank you for your application.Commitment to EquityYCDSB is an equal-opportunity employer committed to fostering equity and promoting an inclusive workplace culture that reflects the communities we serve.
