height="0" width="0" style="display:none;visibility:hidden">Transmission Planning Engineerâ¯- Senior Level Power Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a Senior-level Transmission Planning Engineer. This position is posted in multiple POWER office locations with the ability to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location (please note in the application questions where you prefer to be located). The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full-time at a location other than a POWER-designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings.Roles And Responsibilitiesâ¯This role requires significant experience in network studies for utilities and ISOs with the ability to lead others in this work as well. This individual will be responsible for interfacing with other engineers in the preparation of computer-based models and performing power system studies on utility transmission & distribution systems and industrial/commercial electrical power systems. Work includes feasibility studies, system impact studies, reactive compensation studies, critical clearing time, stability (transient & dynamic), long/short range planning studies, short circuit, load flow, interconnection model development, power factor correction, and other related studies.The level of this engineer requires an individual who has experience participating in the proposal writing process as well as enjoys customer contact to help in developing new opportunities for POWER. This person must be able to self-manage their time and have strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills including the capability to explain complex technical issues at a variety of levels to decision-makers and project teams.Required Education/ExperienceRequires a BSEE Ten (10) + years of experience in transmission planning system studiesExcellent written and verbal English communication skills including writing proposals, reports, and additional technical communication as neededMinimum six (6) years of experience with PSS/EPE registration (or equivalent)Experience with leading projects and mentoring othersFamiliarity with ERCOT, its interconnection processes, and its system impact study requirementsWilling to travel (up to 10% at times)Ability to work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environmentDesired Education/Experience MSEE or PhDTen (10) + years experience with PSS/EFamiliarity with additional RTOs regarding interconnection process and system impact studiesAdditional desirable software: PSLF, TARA, PSCAD, Aspen Oneliner, ETAP, Power World and others as applicableCoding experience and automation developmentPOWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is a global consulting environmental and engineering firm and one of the top design firms in the energy sector.
