Schedules and coordinates the usage and maintenance activities of university fleet. The position also oversees the transporting of students to designated areas on and off campus.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvides outstanding customer service to departments via expert assistance and support for fleet service Oversee the use of the University's vehicles, equipment and improvement implementations.Ensures the campus acquires and maintains an inventory of vehicles available for employee and team travel and is responsible for all policies and procedure development related to a vehicle motor pool in compliance with the DOAS.Serves as the University liaison with the State of Georgia (DOAS) Transportation unit to procure or surplus vehicles for fleet. Maintain knowledge of Board of Regents policies and procedures, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to risk management, safety, and transportation.Performs ongoing analysis of operational decisions.Serves as primary database administrator for computerized maintenance management software and fuel access systems. Supports departments by serving as the subject matter expert and primary action person for new vehicle purchases and removal of old vehicles through approved surplus methods.Facilitates the collision repair process by collecting police reports, initiating claims, creating work orders, coordinating repairs, and returning completed vehicles to departments.Manage transportation shuttle and third-party fleet management contracts and invoices to issue requisitions for service and perform service validation.Provide vehicle and golf cart training as outlined by DOAS to the campus Track and maintain a process to ensure the maintenance on vehicles is up to date.Assist in the development of shuttle schedules, routes, and transfer points via third-party app and for special Conform to all state laws and regulations regarding DOT/FMSCA.Perform other duties as assigned for efficient operation of the Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED; bachelor's in business field Three (3) years of experience in clerical, bookkeeping, or accounting; fleet/vehicle related experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience related to the position.2 years of driving experienceCDL License with P Endorsement is a plus but not required.Must be attentive to detail and have a strong customer orientation.Must successfully complete an MVR and criminal background.Must be able to maintain flexibility and openness to changing work priorities and conditions; simultaneously managing multiple tasks/projects.Must be able to work well with people, public, vendors, community organizations, and staff.Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.Must have work experience with third-party database software.Ability to work weekends and flexible WORKING CONDITIONSRequires willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including frequent nights, weekends and beyond normal working hours as schedule requires.Physical requirements: able to lift 50+ pounds; frequent bending, climbing, driving, lifting; mobility to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.Work is performed both in a climate-controlled environment (indoors) and SUPERVISORY CONTROLSShuttle Drivers and Student AssistantsUSG Core Values Statement The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning, as well as the System Office.
