About the RoleAs an Asset and Transport Manager, you will oversee and manage the organization's asset portfolio and transportation operations. You will ensure the efficient use of assets, optimize transportation logistics, manage maintenance programs, and lead a team to enhance operational productivity and cost-effectiveness.ResponsibilitiesAsset Management:Develop and implement asset management strategies to maximize the lifecycle and value of assets across the organization.Maintain accurate records of all assets, including machinery, vehicles, and equipment; ensure timely updates to asset databases.Conduct regular audits and assessments of assets to identify opportunities for improvement and reduction of capital expenditures.Oversee the procurement process for assets, ensuring compliance with budgets and organizational policies.Transportation Management:Plan, coordinate, and manage all transportation activities, including scheduling, routing, and maintenance of the fleet.Develop and enforce transportation policies and procedures to enhance safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.Monitor transportation costs and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving strategies.Maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers and transportation vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery.Team Leadership:Manage and mentor a team of asset and transport personnel, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continual improvement within the asset and transport teams.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align asset and transport operations with organizational goals.Compliance and Reporting:Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and safety standards related to asset management and transportation.Prepare and present regular reports on asset utilization, transportation performance, and budget management to senior management.Identify and mitigate risks associated with asset and transport operations.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CPM) is a plus.Proven experience (5+ years) in asset management, transportation management, or logistics in a similar industry.Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management and transportation regulations.Proficient in asset management software, transportation management systems (TMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
