We are hiring a Data Scientist for our AI-based oil & gas trading and hedging startup. Location: İstanbulWe are looking for a Data Scientist who is passionate about using data to solve challenging problems. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex datasets to drive strategic decisions and develop innovative solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges, design experiments, build predictive models, and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrong knowledge of SQL and Python; excited to learn new languages when neededExperience in working with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) is a plusExcellent attention to detail, natural curiosity and ability for creative problem-solvingStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExcellent analytical thinking / problem solving skills and attention to detailAbility to deal with ambiguity in defining activities and direction with good planning skillsStrong background in Mathematical Modeling, Operations Research, Statistical approachesUniversity degree from a reputable university in a STEM (Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering) field or related departmentsExperience with statistical packages such as Python, R, GAMS and SQL is a big plusPreferred Qualifications • Experience with PySpark, Airflow, Tableau • Experience with software implementation
