Truck Driver (3) (TFT) (CUPE 81.25)

Scope of Position: Provide a variety of construction, maintenance and repair services to roadways and adjacent public property for the safety and convenience of the public.Position Description:Conduct road way and road allowance inspections as requiredRepair potholes, retaining walls, guide rails and wash outsUndertake asphalt padding, gravel resurfacing, tar and chip resurfacing, shoulder gravel resurfacing and parking lot maintenanceUndertake repair, removal, replacement and installation of catch basins, storm sewers, ditches, culverts, curb and gutters, sidewalks and signsUse of various power and hand tools in completion of construction and maintenance activities including job site restorationsUndertake various maintenance and housekeeping activities with respect to County vehicles and equipment as well as the organization/cleanliness of the roads operations yardsAssist with the setup and cleanup of barricades, traffic barrels/cones, garbage barrels, signs, etc. for special events/festivalsRoadside debris and litter pick up and removalTransportation of construction, maintenance and scrap materials from job sites and roads operations facilities with tandem/single axle dump trucks and one ton trucksOperation of tandem/single axle dump trucks with plow and wing as well as one ton trucks with plow to carry out plowing, salting, sanding operations throughout the winter control season. Spot loading of construction, maintenance and scrap materials on tandem/single axle dump trucks or one ton trucks for transportationUndertakes the setup and teardown of traffic control plan measures on job sites and performs flag person/pilot truck operations as requiredCompletes daily journal, driver's record of time, vehicle inspection reports, vehicle accident/incident reports, employee incident reports and timesheetsCompletes tree trimming and removal work of roadside trees where requiredMaintenance of vegetation around guide rail and guide cable systems as well as other fixtures in the road allowance as requiredWashing and maintenance of bridgesPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsKnowledge and Experience:High school Grade 12 graduationValid Ontario "DZ" driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle including the ability to provide a drivers abstract when requested during the recruitment processOver one year up to and including two years related experienceSkills and Abilities:An understanding of basic operation of all related equipmentComputer experience in corporate standard software (Microsoft Office) and department specific softwareMust be aware of safe work practices as they relate to job responsibilities and work environment, and have the basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety ActIn depth knowledge of the O.
