Role DescriptionWe are seeking a committed and hands-on Rabbit Farmer to join our team at TumiVale Ltd. in Kasoa, Accra. This full-time, on-site position involves the daily care and management of approximately 300–500 rabbits each month. You will be responsible for feeding, breeding, cleaning and maintaining enclosures, monitoring animal health, and enforcing strict biosecurity and hygiene protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the rabbits. The role requires physical stamina, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within our team. Accommodation is provided on-site to support your availability.
In addition to a competitive salary, you will be eligible for performance bonuses and commissions. There is also an exciting opportunity to participate in specialized foreign training with visa support during your second year with us. Key ResponsibilitiesFeed and care for 300–500 rabbits monthly, ensuring optimal nutrition and welfare. Manage breeding programs, including record-keeping of mating, births, and growth rates. Clean and maintain rabbit enclosures to high standards of hygiene and biosecurity. Monitor animal health daily, promptly identifying and addressing signs of illness or distress. Follow and enforce biosecurity protocols to prevent disease and contamination.
Maintain accurate records related to feeding, breeding, health, and operational activities. Collaborate with veterinary professionals and management to support rabbit welfare. Assist in preparation for processing and packaging as needed. Support sustainable and ethical farming practices aligned with company values. Qualifications and SkillsExperience in animal husbandry, preferably with a focus on rabbit farming. Solid knowledge of rabbit breeding, feeding, and health management. Ability to monitor animal health and implement biosecurity and hygiene protocols. Proven skills in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of farm facilities. Proficient in record-keeping and basic reporting. Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Strong physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of daily farm work. Commitment to sustainable and ethical farming practices is highly desirable.
