We deliver hard and soft facilities management services and are responsible for building, maintaining and servicing infrastructure assets across the majority of MODs built Estate in the UK and overseas, including the MOD Training Estate. Responsible for a wide range of activities, from providing accommodation and training facilities to managing land and procurement, DIO acts as the Estate expert for defence, ensuring our Armed Forces have the necessary infrastructure to live, work, train and deploy.
Centre of Excellence (CoE)The CoE allows Regions to focus on Regional responsibilities by leveraging knowledge from across Regional Delivery and DIO supporting functions to develop better solutions. It is responsible for cross-cutting activities across our customers and delivers a programmatic approach to provide enhanced support. The CoE embeds more agile ways of working, develops lean processes and supports defining and realising continuous improvement opportunities. It works across multiple stakeholders to gain insight, share and implement considered Learning from Experience, and provide consistent and coherent advice and strategic direction. Job DescriptionThe Project Support Team (PST) sits within the Regional Delivery Centre of Excellence (RD CoE) and holds a broad portfolio of high-value programmes supporting the Digital, Asset Management, Infrastructure Delivery, Sustainability and Business Improvement areas of the business. As an integrator function, the PST offers a great opportunity for self-development as the successful candidate will be working across many areas of the CoE, wider DIO and industry suppliers to deliver key elements of the MOD’s strategic priorities.
The National Programmes Support position is an exciting new role in Defence that will support the delivery of national MOD infrastructure and sustainability programmes. The post holder can expect to be involved in a wide range of programmes such as the roll out of innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions, transition to a national Electric Vehicle infrastructure contract, standardisation of approaches in Defence towards sustainable infrastructure and services or overseeing the programme of work that maintains our runways and aircraft operating surfaces.
In this supporting role, you will work across DIO’s Regional Delivery teams, RD CoE, industry partners and the military customer base, to coordinate and cohere project and programme data and progress across delivery. This work is vital as it will provide a Pan-Regional view of programmes that underpins programme governance for Defence infrastructure. Providing support to Defence in achieving its Net Zero and sustainability ambitions and meeting the associated government targets, is also a key function of this role. On a day-to-day basis, you will be providing administrative, research, data and statistical support to the Programme lead.

The successful candidate will be someone who is familiar and experienced in working with data and producing reports and experience of defining, developing and interpreting data requirements would be advantageous.
The role also requires the successful candidate to be able to look across a broader spectrum of work including assisting the wider PST with its Asset Management activities and other emerging priorities, so the post holder will need to be comfortable with working at pace and with competing priorities.
