Applications are invited for the position of Underwriter I, Grade 2 in the Underwriter Department at Sagicor General Insurance Trinidad and Tobago Ltd. The successful candidate will be based at the Port of Spain Branch.Job SummaryUnderwrite all classes of general insurance within authorized limits. Review existing portfolios due for renewal. Terms and conditions are sent to all clients within timelines set by company standards and copies are maintained on the policy files. Provide excellent customer service to all clients and potential clients.Key Duties And Responsibilities Provides quotations to customers within authorised limits. Underwrites all classes of renewal business. Effects adjustments to policies as required. Follows up and follows through on clients due for renewal as per Company’s standards. Assists with control of receivables. Provides service to internal and external clients. Reviews all policies due for renewal in accordance with set standards. Ensures that renewal/broker listings are sent out within timelines set by company standards. Ensures the copies of the renewal terms are maintained in the underwriting files. Assesses risk to determine whether the risk should continue to be insured. Performs any other related duties and handles special projects as may be requested by management. Knowledge & Skills Required Education and Experience: Five CXC passes, including Mathematics and English Language Professional qualifications such as Dip. Ins., ACII, ARM, CIP, or equivalent programme Minimum of one year general underwriting experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to identify problems and provide solutions. The ability to work with minimal supervision. The ability to adapt to varying circumstances. The ability to multitask. Good negotiation skills Deadline for submissions: October 17th, 2025
