We're a leading national contract manufacturer in the Australian steel industry, supplying high-quality solutions to infrastructure and industrial sectors. As we continue to grow and streamline operations, we're looking for a National Procurement Manager to take ownership of our sourcing strategy and supplier relationships across multiple sites. This is a high-impact, executive-level role reporting directly to the CEO, offering the opportunity to shape procurement strategy, lead a small team, and drive performance across domestic and international supply chains.
What You'll Be DoingDevelop and execute a national procurement strategy aligned with operational and commercial goals. Source steel and related materials from domestic and international suppliers, including direct negotiations with overseas mills. Oversee import logistics, customs clearance, and national distribution to multiple facilities. Build and maintain supplier networks that deliver quality, compliance, and value. Collaborate with site operation managers to forecast demand and optimise inventory. Lead and mentor procurement and logistics personnel. Implement systems and analytics to improve procurement efficiency, compliance, and reporting.
What You'll BringSenior procurement or supply chain experience in a national manufacturing or industrial setting-steel industry experience highly regarded. Strong knowledge of steel grades, specifications, and global sourcing markets. Proven experience with international procurement, including Incoterms, freight, and customs. Commercial negotiation skills and a network of supplier contacts. Ability to manage procurement across multiple sites and coordinate national logistics. Strategic mindset with operational awareness and leadership capability. Familiarity with ERP/procurement systems (e. g. , SAP, Pronto, Oracle). Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, commerce, engineering, or similar (preferred).
