They further manage human and other resources to ensure that staff are engaged and processes are optimised.KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASEnsure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and proceduresManage and mitigate clinical risks in the unitLead and manage the staff in the unitManage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resourcesManage and actively contribute to a positive client experience in the hospitalSupport the achievement of interdepartmental outcomesManage key stakeholder relationsRequired EducationESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Professional Nurse qualification, and Postgraduate Diploma in Health Services Management or an Accredited Management Qualification OR 5 years of leadership experience in a hospital, andPostgraduate Diploma in Nursing if managing a specialist unit (e.g. Perioperative Nursing)Desired EducationN/ARequired ExperienceESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years of Professional Nurse experience in a hospital2 years of leadership experience in a hospitalDesired ExperienceN/ARequired Job Skills And KnowledgeAuditing and accreditation processesClinical risk managementComputer literate (Microsoft Office)Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologiesFinancial managementHealthcare industryHuman resource processes including employee relationsInfection prevention and controlManagement of staff productivityNursing functional knowledgePatient complaint managementRelevant nursing legislation
