Role: WHSE RepresentativeLocation: Pilbara Region, WA (FIFO ex Perth)Roster: 2: 1 FIFOProject Scope: SMP, BESS, Electrical and Commissioning WorksAbout the Role: The WHSE Representative will provide safety support and oversight across our clients scope on a technically complex and high-risk live site. The project involves Greenfield construction of a new Hydrogen Plant alongside Brownfield tie-ins into an existing ammonia plant, requiring strict adherence to client permitting systems, isolation protocols, and coordination with live utilities and hazardous areas.
We’re looking for someone who can proactively manage risks, liaise with engineering and construction teams, and maintain consistent safety culture during both mechanical and electrical phases. Key Responsibilities: Oversee WHSE compliance for ongoing SMP and E&I activitiesManage permit-to-work processes and isolation procedures in a live plant environmentConduct safety walks, pre-starts, and toolbox talks across multiple work frontsEngage with subcontractors and direct labour to enforce WHSE standardsSupport incident investigations, close-outs, and trend reportingWork closely with planning, construction, and commissioning teams to anticipate risksEnsure continuity and clear handover with existing WHSE resource during roster changesKey Risks and Project Environment:
Brownfield interfaces into the operational Ammonia Plant, requiring strict client-controlled permitting (PTW) and isolation protocolsHydrogen-specific hazards and coordination with commissioning of BESS and electrical systemsHot works, confined space, lifting operations, and hazardous energy sourcesSimultaneous operations (SIMOPS) with live process infrastructureExposure to ammonia-handling areas, requiring gas detection awareness and PPE complianceCoordination between Greenfield build areas and existing utilities or servicesMinimum Requirements:
5–10 years WHSE experience in construction, mining, oil & gas, or industrial sectorsStrong understanding of PTW systems, isolations, and working near live infrastructureCert IV WHS (minimum), White Card, and current First Aid/CPRDemonstrated ability to support SMP and commissioning phases of deliveryFIFO or remote project experience highly regardedHigh level of communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement
