Job Description

Supervises the day-to-day business operations of a small University academic unit. Enacts short- and long-range plans. Improves overall efficiencies, negotiates and approves agreements, and facilitates human resources actions. Med-NeurologyThe University of Pittsburgh, Department of Neurology seeks a qualified Business Administration Supervisor who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations supporting the Pittsburgh Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases (PIND) and other administrative duties within the department. This position coordinates events and speakers, supports procurement functions, manages personnel, and performs a wide variety of complex administrative and office functions independently.

Essential FunctionsEssential duties - Responsible for the day-to-day operational management of personnel, equipment, and space Responsible for human resource functions including interviewing, recruitment and selection, orientation, training, performance evaluations and salary planning. Responsible for arranging speakers and preparing text and other materials for brochures, flyers, social media, and internal/external communications. Performs a wide variety of complex administrative and office functions independently; provides specialized technical or project support for academic or administrative departments as it relates to administrative tasks. Physical EffortMust be able to get around a university setting. Position is mostly sedentary.
