We're assembling a founding team of passionate professionals who believe in the long-term potential of Mawforged.Role DescriptionThis is a remote contract role for an Unreal Engine Game Designer. The Game Designer will be responsible for creating and implementing level designs, developing game mechanics, and collaborating with team members to refine game concepts. The role involves working on game development projects for both console and mobile platforms. Daily tasks include designing game levels, prototyping gameplay features, and ensuring that game mechanics align with the overall vision of the project.What you’ll drive • Core loops: combat → logistics → territory → progression • Survival & economy: scarcity, crafting, durability, risk/reward • PvP balance: roles, counters, time-to-kill, objective design • Specs & iteration: clear docs, prototypes, data-driven tuningMust-have (non-negotiable) • Shipped (or late-stage) experience on systems design (multiplayer or survival) • Strong Unreal 5 literacy (Blueprint prototyping or close collaboration with engineers) • Can write actionable design docs, balance sheets, and test plans • Comfortable in lean pipelines (OpenProject/Nextcloud, Git, Discord standups)Nice-to-have • Economy design, crafting trees, base-building • Telemetry/KPIs for balance decisions • Experience with faction warfare or large-scale PvPEngagement & terms • Remote, CET-friendly collaboration • Equity / revenue-share during funding phase (founding-team track) • High ownership, direct line to me and tech/art leadsIf you can own systems and move from idea → prototype → playtest → balance without hand-holding, let’s talk.Read the important note
