Imagine a position where you ensure the optimal execution of offshore main component exchanges by being an Assistant Project Manager for Vattenfall’s MCE department. We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager for Main Component Exchanges in our Business Area Wind, part of the Vattenfall Organization. You will collaborate with colleagues to create a competent and specialized team that handles main component exchanges for Vattenfall’s offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You will work closely with our MCE Project Managers, Special Tooling team, Travel Technicians, and contractors.
Your role will be crucial in coordinating and overseeing offshore work, ensuring compliance, safety, and quality, while also promoting flexibility and efficiency. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the project organization during exchanges on site, acting on behalf of the MCE project manager, being the main point of contact offshore, and completing Daily Progress Reports (DPRs). Coordinate and plan offshore resources and logistics. Set the standard for a strong QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) culture and behavior through toolbox talks, safety workshops, etc.
Ensure good cooperation on site, making sure all parties work toward the same goal in a safe, efficient, and respectful manner. Adhere to risk assessments and method statements, continuously improving them. Ensure project delivery within quality, scope, and time, always prioritizing safety, with the authority to stop work if safety or quality standards are not met. QualificationsTo Be Successful in This Role, You ShouldHave a deep understanding of jack-up vessel operations, including heavy lifting and rigging. Experience with supervising and leading teams of technicians. Experience in offshore wind, particularly in main component exchanges; being an authorized technician is an advantage. Be flexible and willing to travel, as much of your work will be offshore. Possess full GWO certifications and meet Offshore Medical requirements.
Have experience developing and/or reviewing work documentation such as Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). Have strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written. Experience working with SAP and Microsoft Office. Who Are You?You have a clear feeling of “sense of urgency” without compromising on safety as we work in a fast-paced environment. You have the courage to say STOP! in critical situations while always looking for opportunities to solve the problem. And you have a flexible attitude with regards to tasks, work hours and travelling as this is a necessity for the position.
Working ConditionsBe ready to travel, stay, and work on sites offshore for up to 100 days per year. QualificationsOur ideal candidate has a technical education with relevant industry knowledge and a minimum of 10 years’ experience within the wind industry. Preferably, you have experience and knowledge from installation, maintenance, and repair of gearboxes, main bearings, generators, transformers, and blades. Having worked as a lead technician, with experience leading and educating other technicians, and possessing knowledge and experience in fault finding and troubleshooting, will be a plus. You have a strong command of English, both verbally and in writing.

You are a team player who actively engages people by asking, sharing, helping, or seeking help. You are also proactive, transparent, performance, and result-oriented. Sound communication skills and the ability to travel are a must.
