Overview: Veronica Beard is seeking a Fabric Assistant to join our Raw Materials team. This team manages fabric production for the entire VB collection. The position is based in our NYC corporate office and reports to our Senior Production Fabric Manager. Responsibilities: Organize and maintain fabric library and seasonal fabric collections. Communicate with both nominated mills and full package vendors to track production fabrics and ensure deadlines are being met. Assist in ordering fabrics, linings, and fusibles. Track bulk cuttings for approval, prepare head ends for review, and assist in relaying comments to mills.
Distribute color standards, production standards, and swatches to mills. Enter raw material information into PLM & Vibe IQ and ensure data accuracy during pre-production stage. Update material information as needed. Work with cross functional teams to generate content codes, color codes, and CFT fabrications in systems. Request and allocate preproduction sampling fabric and track shipments to factories. Communicate with cross functional teams on upcoming bulk fabric shipments. Review cut room fabric sheets/Exenta reporting to ensure inventory and liability records are valid and updated.
Track and arrange fabric and fusible testing to ensure products are performing to standard and ensure results are communicated to cross functional teams. Assist in developing fabric for post-market adds and exclusives. Aid in sourcing interlinings and fusibles. Coordinate with Colorist on bulk lab dips and strike off approvals. Assist in creating color palettes in PLM/Vibe IQ. Update Product Knowledge files and ensure accurate fabric information is distributed to cross functional teams. Maintain production fabric binders, bins, and references and turnover storage seasonally. Review/validate fabric invoices. Assist Fabric Manager with special projects as needed.
Provide support for R&D Manager. Qualifications: 1-2 years of relevant experienceWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Experience with PLM and Extenta is a plusStrong organization and communication skills (both written and oral), as well as attention to detailEffective time management skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks within tight deadlinesSelf-starter with a positive, can-do attitudeThe hourly rate for this role is between $24. 00 and $25. 00. The relevant hourly rate will vary depending on wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, degrees, and certifications.
