General Description: The Vice President is a visionary leader that drives technology strategy and execution across BeiGene’s commercial, medical affairs, operations, and governance in the Greater China and JAPAC operating regions. This role is accountable for shaping the organizational technology landscape, fostering an innovative culture, and building strategic partnerships that leverage technology to enhance patient access and outcomes. As a critical member of the Global GTS Leadership Team, the VP will ensure seamless alignment of technological initiatives with overarching business objectives, facilitating strategic investments that drive sustainable growth and innovation.
This role will oversee local technology implementations, site support, regional client management, and operation of BeiGene’s technology platforms within the Global Technology framework. This includes applications, network infrastructure, cloud computing, data center operations, disaster recovery, security, telecommunications, end-user services, and vendor management. The Vice President is accountable for coordinating technology services in close collaboration with Global GTS SMEs with the primary goal of ensuring the performance, compliance, scalability, and security of BeiGene’s data and systems.
The ideal candidate will be experienced working across the technology ecosystem, including application engineering, infrastructure management with a focus on SaaS platforms, introducing new technologies and change in a dynamic environment, and contributing to the expansion of Global GTS Service Desk capabilities in region. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate an understanding of running technology organizations as a business from a strategy, technology, security, process, finance, and people management standpoint.
Finally, the successful candidate will have experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and bring current knowledge and innovative ideas to develop and mature technology strategy, service offerings, and workforce, in region. Essential Functions of the job: Regional IT Service Delivery: • Lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge technology initiatives and innovative operational capabilities, ensuring BeiGene remains at the forefront of biopharmaceutical technology advancement while enhancing employee productivity and overall operational efficiency• Introduces innovative, differentiating infrastructure and operations capabilities that enhance our overall competitive capabilities and enhance employee productivity.
• Works with the GTS senior leadership team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources, including budget. • Collaborates closely with Information Security to ensure security strategy and compliance are embedded into operations and solution delivery. • Provides direction on what emerging technologies should be incorporated into products and services to successfully deliver overall technology strategy. • Builds successful stakeholder relationships with other GTS and business leaders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring cost-effective delivery of technology services to meet those needs.
• Build and drive an operational strategy that meets the needs and requirements of the business and is aligned with global delivery teams. • Assess and drive GTS process and technology roadmaps for applications, infrastructure, and operations. • Oversee activities relating to the design, development, implementation, testing, and overall technical support to ensure the technology services environment meet the business needs of the company. • Focus on user-experience, resilience, performance, availability, and total cost of ownership. • Oversee site builds and operations to ensure local requirements and regulations are met.
• Works with HR and the GTS leadership team to develop and execute workforce plans that ensure GTS can supply skilled resources to meet current and future demand. Business Partnering• Serve as a pivotal technology partner and advisor to C-level executives and regional leadership, articulating how technology can catalyze business success and patient access. • Accountable as business relationship manager to the China and JAPAC Leadership Teams. • Develop and maintain the technology architecture landscape design and project roadmap. • Establish cadences and mechanisms to engage with business users to proactively propose enhancements or new technologies that are aligned with long-range plans.
• Support Global GTS Business Partner(s) by collaborating on regional team requirements. • Collaborate with GTS PMO & Business Management on the project delivery lifecycle, resourcing, and budgeting. Regional & Country Launches• Accountable as GTS Technical Lead for product launch support and services in countries across Greater China and JAPAC, in affiliate, partner and hybrid models. Experienced in business relationship management with a focus on technology needs for Commercial and Medical Affairs functions.
Accomplished in building and development of people and teams, comfortable working with a broad cross section of people in direct and matrixed relationships. Exposure to G&A (i. e. , ERP, Finance, Legal) solution delivery desired. Proficient in various project management disciplines (i. e. , Agile, Waterfall).
