Job DescriptionJob Title: Vice-President Government RelationsWorking Pattern: Full timeWorking location: Reston, VA (Hybrid - 3 Office Days/Week)As a Vice-President of Government Relations, you will be responsible for building relationships between all Rolls-Royce business units and the United States Congress, the U.S. Department of Defense and other key Executive Branch departments and agencies in Washington, D.C. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any protected characteristics.What You Will Be DoingBuild and maintain relationships while serving as Rolls-Royce North America (RRNA) senior corporate representative to the United States Congress and key Executive Branch agencies and departmentsWorking knowledge of the federal legislative process (House and/or Senate);Prior government and/or industry experience requiring interaction with elected officials and senior staffKnowledge of or experience with Executive Branch departments and agenciesSuccinctly and capably translate Rolls-Royce technical capabilities, product offerings and market opportunities for defense, aerospace, and energy applicationsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsAbility to work and communicate in a bipartisan mannerMonitor all stages of projects for politically important government business and serves as a resource for the dissemination of information to US government officialsMonitor authorization and appropriations legislation, coordinate with relevant agencies, Members of Congress, and Committees to secure funding/policyDevelop and execute strategies for advancing RRNA priorities on Capitol HillMust be able to travel domestically up to 20%Who We’re Looking ForAt Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. They are the fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in Government Relations, the U.S. Legislative or Executive Branch, and/or the aerospace and defense, transportation or energy industries, ORMaster's degree with 6+ years of experience in Government Relations, the U.S. Legislative or Executive Branch, and/or the aerospace and defense, transportation or energy industries, ORPhD with 3+ years of experience in Government Relations, the U.S. Legislative or Executive Branch, and/or the aerospace and defense, transportation or energy industries, ORIn order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA CitizenshipPreferred RequirementsBachelors degree in National Security or a technical related fieldHeld a senior position in the United States CongressPrevious senior-level experience within the U.S. Congress, Executive Branch, or a major defense/aerospace organization with direct policy influence and stakeholder engagement.Proven success building bipartisan relationships and influencing high-level decision makers across government, industry, and regulatory environments.Demonstrated executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and business priorities into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.Strong strategic thinking and political acumen — able to anticipate policy shifts, assess risks, and position company priorities proactively.Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively across internal business units, cultures, and senior leadership levels.Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and sound judgment when dealing with sensitive or classified information.Skilled in crisis communication and issue management, capable of navigating complex political environments with professionalism and composure.Passionate about public service, innovation, and advancing U.S. national interests through collaboration between government and industry.What We OfferWe offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits.
