R&B Wholesale Distributors has selected CIO Partners to lead their search for the role of Vice President of Information Technology – their top IT leader, located in Greater Los Angeles.Backed by global investment firm Platinum Equity and headquartered in Ontario, California, R&B was founded in 1968 and is a leading distributor of major home appliances in California, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. They carry one of the largest selections of appliance brands in the industry, with an emphasis on kitchen and laundry products, including refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, and washer and dryers. R&B sells primarily through the dealer, builder, and property management channels and serves the multi-family, single-family, and light commercial end markets. As the VP of Information Technology, you will lead the full spectrum of IT strategy, infrastructure, systems, data and security for R&B Wholesale Distributors. You will partner with business leaders to ensure that technology aligns with growth, operational excellence, and customer delivery. You will also manage your team, external vendors, and major initiatives such as ERP transformations, IT integrations for M&A, analytics, cloud migration, and cybersecurity.Key Responsibilities:Define and execute the IT roadmap to support the company’s growth across multiple states and business channels (dealer, builder, property management, commercial).Lead the implementation, integration, and support of ERP platform such as Sage 100, Epicor, Microsoft Business Central, Great Plains/Dynamics F&SC, NetSuite, or SAP Business One.Oversee the company’s MS SQL Server environment data modeling, extraction, performance tuning, system integrations, reporting and migration.Manage IT aspects of M&A activity: due diligence, integration of systems/infrastructure, data harmonization, and operational consolidation.Build and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity program aligned with industry best practices; strong preference for Microsoft-stack solutions.Lead cloud strategy and operations, with special focus on the Azure platform and related tools.Elevate the company’s Business Intelligence capabilities by implementing solutions such as Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, enabling advanced analytics and business insights for operational and strategic decision-making.Foster an IT culture that supports the “family-owned” ethos of R&B: collaborative, service-oriented, employee- and customer-centric, while rapidly scaling and professionalizing technology operations.Guide and develop IT leadership and staff, cultivate vendor relationships, manage budgets, and ensure the delivery of IT services aligned with business needs.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible IT leadership experience; at least 5 years at an executive/senior level.Demonstrated experience in a mid-sized distribution or logistics company (ideally appliance or building-products distribution) with multi-state operations and multiple delivery/warehouse sites.Hands-on and strategic experience with ERP implementations (selecting, deploying, upgrading), especially mid-market systems listed above.Deep proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server: data architecture, ETL/extracts, performance optimization, integration with other platforms/applications.Proven track record of leading IT integrations resulting from mergers and acquisitions.Strong cybersecurity experience: implementing full-stack security tools (identity, endpoint, network, cloud, compliance) ideally within the Microsoft ecosystem.Cloud computing expertise, especially Azure and its management/analytics toolset.Business Intelligence and analytics experience using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI or comparable platforms to drive actionable insights.Strong leadership and communication skills: able to articulate technology strategy to non-technical stakeholders, build teams, and influence across the organization.Ability to thrive in a culture that emphasizes loyalty, relationships, family values and service excellence—as embodied by R&B’s long history of employee tenure and customer relationships.
