If you meet the qualifications and are ready to take on new challenges, we encourage you to apply.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide legal analysis and support to JPMorgan's Markets and Securities Services businesses in Japan and cross-border, covering both transactional and non-transactional matters, including regulatory and general corporate affairsReview, draft, and negotiate transactional and other documents related to the covered businesses in Japan and cross-borderAnalyze relevant laws and regulations to evaluate their impact on the covered businesses and advise on regulatory aspectsCollaborate with local and global Business, Compliance, and Controls teams on legal and regulatory matters, both originating in Japan and cross-border, to identify and implement policy, process, and procedural changes ensuring compliance with evolving laws and regulationsOffer legal advice and contribute to policy development for local, regional, and global new business initiatives, products, templates, and platforms, representing the covered businesses in JapanParticipate in domestic, regional, and global project teams related to regulatory developments, requests, exams, and auditsAssist colleagues with expertise in ISDA-related documentation and structured note and repackaging documentationContribute to developing a disciplined control environment within JPMorgan, identifying and mitigating legal and other risksManage outside counsel in connection with the above work streamsRequired Qualifications, Capabilities, And SkillsAdmission to practice law in Japan with 3 years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm or financial institutionStrong drafting, negotiation, and legal analytical skills with attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and cross-locational team to achieve common goalsEffective problem-solving skills, strong multi-tasking abilities, proactive self-starter, and ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelNative in Japanese and fluency in English, both written and spokenPreferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And SkillsExperience in Markets businesses, including structured products (such as structured notes and repackagings) and OTC derivatives or other transactional documentation across various asset classes (equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities), and associated regulatory issues.Eagerness and flexibility to engage with new challenges and issues, including new legal topics/areas.Strong research and/or transaction management skillsABOUT USJ.P.
