Vice President of Artificial Intelligence

We are seeking a Vice President of Artificial Intelligence to define and lead the company’s global AI strategy within the medical technology domain. This role will drive the development and deployment of advanced AI solutions across imaging, digital health, and connected devices, enabling faster innovation, improved patient outcomes, and smarter clinical decision support.As a member of the executive leadership team, you will shape the company’s AI vision, establish a high-performing technical organization, and ensure that every product and process benefits from data-driven intelligence.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the global AI roadmap aligned with the company’s strategic and clinical objectives.Build and lead multidisciplinary teams across data science, machine learning, computer vision, and software engineering.Oversee the design and deployment of AI models for areas such as medical imaging, signal analysis, diagnostics, and predictive maintenance.Partner with regulatory, clinical, and product teams to ensure compliant, ethical, and clinically validated AI solutions.Establish external collaborations with hospitals, academic partners, and technology providers to accelerate innovation.Define KPIs for AI initiatives and ensure measurable business and clinical impact.Represent the company’s AI vision to internal stakeholders, investors, and external partners.QualificationsProven leadership experience (10+ years) in AI, data science, or machine learning within MedTech, healthcare, or a regulated technology environment.Deep understanding of AI methodologies (ML, DL, CV, NLP, and GenAI) and their practical application to medical data and devices.Strong track record of building and scaling high-performing technical teams.Familiarity with medical regulatory frameworks (FDA, MDR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304) and clinical validation requirements for AI/ML systems.Demonstrated success translating research into commercially viable and clinically impactful products.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both executive and technical audiences.Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in computer science, biomedical engineering, or related field preferred.Country: NetherlandsWork Model: HybridContract type: Permanent
