Summary/Objective The Vice President of Global Operations is an experienced leader who has generated significant impact through the strategic and tactical direction of manufacturing, supply chain, quality, post-sale service and safety.This position will direct and develop director-level department heads in sourcing, supply management, quality, manufacturing and distribution. This position will report directly to the CEO and will serve as a member of the executive team.This position holds an onsite requirement at our Global Headquarters in Ball Ground, GA (located approximately 35 miles north of Atlanta).Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Establish operations and supply chain strategy, goals, and annual objectives in coordination with the President to drive business growth and effectiveness.Must be capable of translating objectives and needs into deliverable strategy to achieve business goals as well as ensure the value chain has the required materials to create a competitive advantage of the product portfolio.Set and drive improvement in key metrics which drive the manufacturing, quality, operations, supply chain and service activities.Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution. Define target and control procedures.Provide leadership, counsel, and manage cross-functional teams as well as employees in direct chain of command, giving direction and defining objectives; serve as change agentManage up to 10 direct and 250+ indirect reports across a multi-site manufacturing environment.Interact regularly with executive team and individual department heads to ensure that company’s operational priorities are aligned with total company direction.Lead environmental, health and safety programs.Demand and Supply Planning: Manages overall demand as well as supply planning to ensure optimized load across the network of factories, tie alignment with Annual Operating Plan. Apply Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning framework, drive New Product Introductions planning. Ensure global supply planning including factories execution plan is followed to SOP and global policy.Materials and Inventory Management: Drives improvement projects with all peers: planners/buyers, sourcing/buyers, local operations and technical functions to maintain best in class inventory levels (incl. Inactive, Obsolete and Slow movers). Plans materials strategies to optimize planning and inventory. Measures forecast, analysis and reporting of weekly/monthly SIOP data in coordination with the Global SIOP leader, PDC Scheduler and Business Demand Planners.Logistics and Warehouse Management: Manages logistics team to ensure all imports and exports for the site are promptly executed. Ensures correctness of data and paperwork for successful Intrastat monthly submission. Coaches warehouse supervisor on good warehouse keeping, equipment usage and maintenance.Working across sites, determine the most effective use of plant capacity according to short and long-term forecasts. Ensure capacity is cost justifiable, sustainable, and makes the most efficient use of resources.Develop and direct the management of the company’s remote fulfillment/distribution centers that will ensure fast order processing, accurate inventory control, proper and timely receipt/stocking of goods, cost-efficient shipping direct to customers and effective processing of returns.Directs development of plans, guidelines, policies and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets.Develops and leads implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.Directs collection and analysis of quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategy and programs.Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing early in the design stage in order to build quality into the product design and manufacturing process.Competencies/Success Factors Business or Job-Specific KnowledgeProject/Task ManagementResults Focus / Output OrientationAdaptability / FlexibilityInterpersonal CommunicationNegotiation SkillsCoaching / Developing OthersChange ManagementSupervisory Responsibility This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and manufacturing/distribution environment.Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. Some will be International.Required Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or Science10-15 years of related experience in supply chain and operations management in a manufacturing field. Medical field a plus.Preferred Education and ExperienceMBA or master’s degree.Related certifications commensurate with the role.
