Vice President, People & CultureOur client, a national leader in workforce development and employment services, is searching for a strategic and hands-on role with direct influence on culture, engagement, and business outcomes. The largest player in its space, with a mission rooted in helping people re-enter the workforce.Why this role is excitingStrategic impact: Partner directly with the CEO and executive team to shape the organization’s growth strategy.Commercial leadership: Take ownership of budgets, P&L-related initiatives, and continuous improvement.Team leadership: Lead People & Culture across workforce development and the full spectrum—talent acquisition, engagement, labor relations, organizational design, compensation, compliance, and EDIB.Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate business strategy into people and operational plans that drive measurable results.Oversee the People & Culture team, including direct reports: Director of People & Culture and Talent Acquisition Manager, plus senior managers across the business.Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with the CEO, senior leaders, global colleagues, and external partners.Lead strategic transformation initiatives (growth, acquisitions, restructures).Champion engagement, communications, and cultural practices that strengthen organizational alignment.Design and optimize recruitment, onboarding, retention, learning & development, and succession planning.Coach leaders on labor relations, performance management, and compliance issues.Ensure adherence to regulatory, contractual, and occupational health & safety standards.Monitor key talent metrics (engagement, turnover, hiring targets, time-to-fill) and lead data-driven improvements.Drive innovation and continuous improvement, including the use of AI and modern tools to enhance HR processes.The Ideal Candidate10+ years of senior People & Culture/HR leadership experience with proven commercial impact.Strong business acumen and P&L understanding; background in industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, construction, or finance.Experience with high-volume recruitment and workforce planning.Strong background in labor relations, including union engagement and negotiations.Recognized as a coach and influencer with high emotional intelligence—able to inspire buy-in rather than micromanage.Comfortable driving transformation, optimizing processes, and challenging the status quo.Bonus: experience engaging with Indigenous communities or passion for DEIB initiatives.Bonus: exposure to AI and technology in HR.Fully remote role, with preference for candidates in Ontario, Alberta, or British Columbia.
