Vice President, Portfolio Value CreationMiddle Market Private Equity GroupLocation: Pittsburgh, PA – OnsiteThis middle market private equity group specializes in control investments in privately held companies across North America. The firm typically deploys $20–$100 million in equity per transaction, focusing on sectors such as outsourced services, niche manufacturing, and value-added distribution. Since inception, the team has completed over 30 platform acquisitions and invested approximately $1 billion from a committed $1 billion fund.Position OverviewThe Vice President of Portfolio Value Creation will be a key driver of operational and strategic enhancements across a diverse portfolio of middle market businesses. Working in close partnership with both the investment team and portfolio company leadership, the VP will lead the development and execution of value creation plans, oversee post-acquisition integration efforts, and support growth acceleration and operational efficiency initiatives.This role reports to the Director of Portfolio Value Creation and is ideal for a results-oriented leader who brings a strong consulting foundation, hands-on operational experience, and a collaborative leadership approach.Key Responsibilities Collaborate with investment professionals and company executives to design and implement value creation strategies across a portfolio of ~15 companies. Lead high-impact operational initiatives, including revenue growth programs, digital transformation, performance reporting, and supply chain optimization. Manage post-close integration processes, including synergy realization, target operating model development, and change management. Contribute to operational due diligence for new investments and add-on acquisitions. Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of portfolio company executives and key functional leaders. Build and maintain financial models and dashboards to track performance and measure impact. Oversee third-party consultants engaged on strategic or operational initiatives. Deliver regular progress reports and insights to firm leadership and the investment committee. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university; MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred. 7–10+ years of experience in management consulting, private equity operations, or corporate strategy/operations. Proven track record of leading strategic and operational transformation initiatives. Strong financial acumen and deep understanding of financial statements and business metrics. Prior experience in private equity, investing, or M&A is highly desirable.
