We empower a diverse range of creators to imagine and develop culturally significant content, while building an organization that thrives on creative ideas, operational expertise and strategic thinking.Job DescriptionFOX Corporation is seeking a dynamic Vice President, Privacy & Data Security to serve as a senior legal advisor on all matters related to privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, and incident response across our growing portfolio of consumer-facing platforms. This is a high-impact, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of law, technology, business, and compliance—and reports directly to the co-Chief Privacy Officers.In this role, you will work cross-functionally with technology, legal, security, product, and business leadership to help FOX navigate an evolving global privacy landscape. You’ll be directly responsible for advising on privacy-by-design principles, drafting and negotiating complex privacy/security contract language, guiding the business through incident response, and advising the company on streaming-specific regulatory obligations such as VPPA, COPPA, and CIPPA. This is a lean team with a collaborative, sleeves-up culture—perfect for an operator who thrives with autonomy and is ready to own the privacy strategy from policy to execution.a Snapshot Of Your ResponsibilitiesServe as lead privacy counsel on a variety of consumer-facing digital initiatives, including websites, streaming apps, data analytics, AI, and adtechProvide strategic and day-to-day legal counsel on privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity issues—including federal and state privacy laws (VPPA, COPPA, CIPPA, CCPA/CPRA, etc.)Draft and negotiate data privacy and security provisions in commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and strategic partnershipsAdvise business teams on data use, data governance, and cross-border data transfer issuesLead privacy impact assessments and partner with stakeholders to embed privacy-by-design across business and product development lifecyclesMonitor and advise on legal developments, regulatory trends, industry self-regulation, and best practices in data protection and cybersecuritySupport incident response and breach notification processes in collaboration with Information Security and Legal teamsPrepare and present briefings on privacy and data risk for internal stakeholders, including executive leadership and the Audit CommitteeDevelop and deliver internal privacy trainings, policies, and communicationsRespond to consumer privacy rights requests and manage regulatory inquiries as neededOperate as a strategic advisor within a lean, high-performing legal and privacy functionWhat You Will NeedJuris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state barMinimum 8+ years of privacy and/or data security legal experience, ideally with both top law firm and in-house rolesProven experience advising senior leaders and cross-functional teams on privacy laws, data use, and security frameworksExpertise in streaming, media, or tech-focused legal environments—especially those involving consumer data, digital advertising, or video deliveryDeep knowledge of U.S. and international privacy laws (e.g., VPPA, COPPA, CIPPA, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR)Skilled in contract drafting/negotiation with attention to regulatory nuance and risk balancingAbility to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, agile settingExceptional communicator—capable of explaining legal concepts in business language and presenting to senior stakeholders (including Audit Committee)Strong judgment, strategic thinking, and problem-solving orientationComfortable operating in a lean team—no direct reports, but high visibility and cross-functional influenceNICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKERExperience in the media, entertainment, or streaming industryPrior in-house counsel work at a tech, data, or content-driven organizationAdmission to the California State Bar or willingness to register as In-House Counsel in CAWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable law.Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $247,000.00-300,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
