About the FirmOur client is an alternative investment firm with a global footprint, specializing in credit, private equity, and real assets - headquartered in New York with $35bn in AUM. The Los Angeles based Liquid Credit team manages a diverse set of strategies including syndicated loans, high yield bonds, structured credit, and multi-asset credit portfolios.Position OverviewThe Vice President, Product Specialist – Liquid Credit Strategy will serve as a key liaison between the investment team and the firm’s global distribution and investor relations functions. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of liquid credit markets and the ability to communicate investment performance, positioning, and strategy to both internal and external stakeholders.This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and communication skill. The VP will partner closely with portfolio managers, marketing, and sales teams to ensure that the firm’s liquid credit offerings are effectively represented to investors and consultants.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Expertise & Representation:Act as a subject matter expert on the firm’s liquid credit strategies, including loan, high-yield, CLO, and opportunistic credit products.Represent the investment team in client and consultant meetings, due diligence sessions, and internal training.Portfolio Communication & Reporting:Prepare and deliver portfolio reviews, performance analyses, market updates, and attribution commentary.Translate complex investment insights into clear and compelling materials for investors and stakeholders.Collaboration with Investment Teams:Work closely with portfolio managers and analysts to stay informed of market views, portfolio positioning, and performance drivers.Provide feedback to investment teams based on client and market perspectives.Product Development & Strategy:Support new product development initiatives and product structuring opportunities within the liquid credit platform.Collaborate with product management and marketing to enhance materials and thought leadership content.Business Development Support:Partner with distribution teams globally to support fundraising, client servicing, and strategic account management efforts.Assist in responding to RFPs, RFIs, and due diligence questionnaires.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, CFA, or CAIA) strongly preferred.Experience: 7–12 years of experience in credit markets, preferably within an asset management, investment banking, or alternative investment environment.Technical Skills: Strong understanding of fixed income analytics, leveraged finance, and structured credit.Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to both sophisticated institutional clients and broader audiences.
