Our client, a leading financial services organisation that has an excellent reputation, is seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager to enhance and oversee operational risk frameworks and ensure robust risk management across the business. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Lead the operational risk incident process from identification to resolution, including root-cause analysis and control enhancements. Oversee complaints handling processes, analysing trends and ensuring timely resolution within policy thresholds.
Support the implementation and monitoring of Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) programmes and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). Maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and operational risk reports for senior management and risk committees. Manage and strengthen business continuity frameworks, crisis management protocols, and incident response procedures. Act as a trusted advisor to business units, embedding risk awareness into daily operations. Deliver operational risk training, workshops, and “lessons learned” initiatives to promote a strong risk-aware culture. Support ad hoc projects and local initiatives to enhance operational risk strategies. Key Skills and Experience:
8+ years’ experience in operational risk or risk management within financial services or a regulated environment. Strong knowledge of risk management principles, frameworks, and tools (e. g. , Basel standards). Familiarity with Channel Islands regulations or experience in offshore regulatory environments is advantageous. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
